PianoNear

One teacher. One student. A shared keyboard.

Piano lessons,
closer together.

See each other, hear each other, and share the notes you play. PianoNear brings video and MIDI into the same browser-based lesson.

Students join by invitation. No student account needed.

Video for the conversation

One-to-one camera and microphone, with controls for your lesson.

MIDI for the music

See played notes on a shared keyboard. Use a MIDI instrument, the on-screen keyboard, or optional software piano playback.

A link for your student

Start a lesson, copy the invite and send it to your student. No downloads required.

Made for teaching, not remote jamming.

Network delay varies. PianoNear is designed for taking turns, demonstrating and practising — not latency-free simultaneous performance.

Getting started

  1. Use a recent Chrome or Edge browser for MIDI support.
  2. Open the app and allow the camera, microphone and MIDI access you need.
  3. Start a lesson and share its invitation.

The pilot is currently free. We are preparing an organizer-paid subscription; students will continue to join by invitation. Real payments are not enabled.

Before using the pilot, read the draft privacy policy, including browser storage, peer network addresses and optional external piano samples.
